Animals were immunized against 1D2, a BALB/cJ mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody specific for ricin A chain. Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cells. The 44-6-1 (ATCC CRL-2491) and 44-26-2 (ATCC CRL-2492) cell lines produce antibodies that bind specifically to an idiotypic determinant on 1D2 anti-ricin monoclonal antibody. The 44-6-1 and 44-26-2 monoclonals conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) have been shown to induce anti-ricin antibodies in mice. |
