Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--20.0, 12.0, 4.6, 1.6; BamHI--21.5, 6.6, 5.4, 3.7, 1.6; PvuI--16.0, 13.5, 4.7, 2.6, 2.0; PstI--8.2, 8.0, 5.0, 4.2, 3.0, 2.6, 2.1, 1.8, 1.2; HindIII--19.7, 11.0, 5.8, 3.0. The MspI polymorphism was typed in the following CEPH families: 1331, 13292, 13294, 1340, 1416, 1424, 13291. The TaqI polymorphism was typed in 13294. The gene frequencies shown for the MspI and TaqI polymorphisms were established in a Caucasian population. Different frequencies have been detected in Negros and Bushman (San). A 3.6 kb MspI fragment from the insert was used to detect the RFLPs. The insert contains repetitive sequences, with these sequences in both the 4.5 kb and the 1.7 kb EcoRI fragments of the insert. Enzyme(s) not detecting polymorphism: BglII, SstI, AvaII, StuI, PvuII, PstI, EcoRI, BamHI, HindIII, HincII, RsaI, MboI. |
