The insert contains internal XhoI, SalI, HinfI (2) and HaeIII (2) sites. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI/EcoRI--3.0, 2.2; HindIII--5.4; EcoRI--5.5. Detects mouse genomic PstI fragments of 3.5 and 1.7 kb and hamster genomic PstI fragments of 12 and 10 kb. A 320 bp HaeIII fragment contains the Hox3.1 sequences. When this fragment is used as a probe, it detects a 2.7 kb mRNA in CD-1 mouse embryos. A 2.1 kb transcript is also apparent in the spinal cord. |
