Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): XhoI--7.4, 4.0; EcoRI--8.6, 3.0; HindIII--8.6, 1.6, 1.3; SacI--4.8, 3.8, 1.5, 1.0; SalI--4.7, 3.2, 3.0. The insert contains the following restriction sites (nt position according to the published sequence): HindIII--23, 1616, 1735; SalI--365; SacI--394, 1921. This clone was constructed by subcloning the insert described in the Science paper into the vector pMV7. Contains 700 bp 5' untranslated region, the open reading frame from nt 688 to nt 2068, and part of the 3' untranslated region. Detects a 5.2 kb mRNA in choroid plexus, basal ganglia, hypothalamus, hippocampus, pons medulla and spinal cord. |
