Next-generation sequencing (NGS) at ATCC on the McCoy cell line (ATCC® CRL-1696™) used as the host has shown the presence of Mus Musculus mobilized endogenous polytropic provirus and Murine leukemia virus.
Effect on Host
CPE, cells enlarge as inclusions form, which push cellular material outward, leaving a swollen, round middle. Inclusions best visualized by FA. Death of chicken embryo.

Growth Conditions
Recommendations for Infection: For best results in tissue culture, cells should be 24 to 48 hours old and 80% - 100% confluent. The cells will not continue to grow after adding the cycloheximide.
Incubation: In TC, 2 to 3 days at 37°C, a 5% CO2 in air atmosphere is recommended. In CE, 7 to 10 days at 35°C.
