ISU-P confirmed to be PRRSV after isolation using PRRSV group specific monoclonal antibody (FITC) designated SDOW17 (David Benfield, South Dakota State U. Broodings, SD). Virus stable for up to 1 month at 4 C.

Yes, in vitro effects: Cytopathic effects (small foci of 5 to 10 rounded cells) appears within 48 hours and progresses through the cell sheet over 4 to 7 days
