DNA: cDNA Insert lengths(kb): 2.799999952316284 Tissue: melanoma B16 cell line Gene product: brown(b-locus protein, catalase 2, tyrosinase-related protein) [b] Alleles: A2, A2, A1, A1, A2, A1 |

Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): PstI/PvuII--1.5, 1.08, 0.92, 0.87, 0.72, 0.29; XbaI--4.4, 1.1; BamHI--5.8; KpnI--5.8; HindIII--2.7, 1.6, 1.1. The insert contains the following restriction sites (nt from the 5' end): XbaI--574, 1682; HindIII--793, 2361; KpnI--853; PstI--894; BamHI--974. The vector lacks the SV40 promoter. Although the gene product is recognized by anti-b-locus protein antibodies, it does not have tyrosinase activity. It has been called tyrosinase-related protein or b-locus protein. This is a full length cDNA clone. Coding sequences extend from nucleotides 116 through 1726. Enzyme(s) not detecting human polymorphism: StuI, BglII, HpaI, HaeII, PvuII, BamHI, PstI, HindIII, EcoRI, TaqI, AvaII, MspI (10 unrelated individuals). |
