Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): KpnI--10.3; HindIII--8.2, 2.1; SalI--10.3. This vector is one of three lacZ reporter plasmids that contain UAS (upstream activation site) elements (ATCC 87511, 87512 & 87522). They differ by polylinker sites. DNA fragments can be inserted into these plasmids to screen for DNA elements that reduce promoter activity. The vector was constructed by Aaron Mitchell. |
