Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI/HindIII--8.4, 4.6; EcoRI--14. The restriction sites reported by the depositor correspond to those predicted by the sequence stored in GenBank J00120. This insert appears to extend approximate 800 bp farther in the 5' direction. The insert contains the following restriction sites (approximate kb from the 5' end): PstI--1.0, 2.7, 5.4, 5.8; ClaI--1.8, 7.7; XhoI--3.2; EcoRV--5.5. The latter 2 PstI sites and the EcoRV site are in exon 1; the latter ClaI site is in exon 2. Contains both exons of the gene and 5' and 3' flanking sequences. The intron contains an Alu-like repeat. Recorded as not polymorphic by Collaborative Research, meaning either not polymorphic in 0.8% agarose gels, or difficult to work with. |
