Poxviridae, Orthopoxvirus |
| Agent |
Vaccinia virus ts mutant |
| Strain |
IHD-W Dts14 |
| Applications |
The mutation was assigned by complementation analysis (Lackner, et al, 2003) to vaccinia map location A24, the 132-kDa RNA polymerase subunit. |
| Biosafety Level |
2 BSL 2Vaccination is recommended for laboratory staff working with vaccinia, monkeypox and cowpox virusesref
Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country. |
| Isolation |
This conditional lethal mutant , originally designated plaque isolate no. 1655, was isolated from the IHD-W strain of Vaccinia by S. Dales. The IHD-W strain was derived from an IHD-J strain of Vaccinia. |
| Product Format |
frozen |
| Storage Conditions |
-70°C or colder |
| Comments |
Selected after mutagenesis with nitrosoguanidine. The non-permissive incubation temperature is 39.5 C. This mutant was assigned to Dales EM categories B and P, characterized by induction of viroplasm in infected cells, and generation of immature normal particles and mature particles with cores that are predominantly lucent at the center. The mutation was assigned by complementation analysis (Lackner, et al, 2003) to vaccinia map location A24, the 132-kDa RNA polymerase subunit. |
