The insert contains the following restriction sites (nt from the 5' end): HindIII--75; SacI--640; EcoRV--786; ClaI--841. Contains the complete coding sequence (nt 55 - 795), plus 5' and 3' untranslated regions. Detects mRNA of approximately 1.3 kb in rat pineal and rat retina. The 5' end of the insert is closer to the KS primer and the T7 promoter. Transcription from the T7 promoter gives the sense strand. |
