Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--4.9, 2.8; EcoRI--4.8, 3.0; HindIII--7.6; KpnI--5.6, 2.4; PstI--3.6, 1.6, 1.0, 0.9, 0.5, 0.4. Closely linked to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Type 1A. Preassociation with human placental DNA is required prior to hybridization at normal stringency (65C, 1 M Na+). Codominant segregation of the MspI RFLP has been observed in 2 French-Acadian kindreds (58 individuals). Enzyme(s) not detecting polymorphism: RsaI, PvuII, PstI, TaqI, BglII, EcoRI (in a panel of 8 individuals). |
