Reconstitute plant virus by grinding the freeze dried tissue; use a mortar and pestle with 3-4 mL of a buffer such as 0.05 M sodium phosphate and 10mM sodium sulfite at pH 7.2. Rub plants with this suspension using diatomaceous earth or silicon carbide. Disease symptoms on the host plants are ususally visible within two weeks
