Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.7, 1.6; BamHI--4.3; XbaI--uncut; PstI--4.3; HindIII--4.3. The MspI and BamHI polymorphisms are in equilibrium, with the BamHI polymorphism being more difficult to score because of poor hybridization. The combined polymorphism information content for the MspI and BamHI polymorphisms is 0.67, and the combined heterozygosity is 81%. Human DNA should be used in the hybridization.
