Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--4.3; HindIII--4.3; BamHI--4.3; EcoRI/HindIII--4.3; Pst--3.7, 0.6. When DNA is digested with Nsi1, this probe detects bands of 6.5 and 3.1 kb in normal human DNA, and bands of 6.5, 3.1, 4.9 and 1.6 in individuals with familial amyloid polyneuropathy type 1. |
