Among the restriction sites in the insert are the following: PstI (11), SmaI (4), NcoI (2), DraI (2), NarI (2), MstII (3), PvuII (3), BglI (1), TaqI (4) and NaeI (2). Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--6.4, 2.8; BamHI--11.0; HindIII--11.0; PstI--4.2, 1.9 doublet, 1.1, 0.6, 0.58; BglI--7.9, 2.7; BamHI/EcoRI--7.4, 1.7, 1.2. The insert includes part of intron 1 through part of intron 7. This sequence includes multiple Alu repeats, two purine-rich regions, and a Z-DNA structured region. |
