Cell Line Description:
HCC2218 BL is a B lymphoblastoid cell line initiated from peripheral blood lymphocytes from the same patient as HCC2218 by transformation with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). HCC2218 was derived from a female whose family members included several members with cancer; four lung cancer patients (two of them, non-smokers), two breast cancer patients (one of them also had lung cancer) and one colon cancer patient. DNA isolated from HCC2218, a breast ductal carcinoma cell line, is available as ATCC CRL-2343D.
