Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): PstI--3.3; EcoRI--3.3; BamHI--3.3; HindIII--3.3; EcoRI/HindIII--0.3, 3.0. There is significant homology between the human, murine, bovine and trout protamine 1 genes. After amplification using PCR, the fragment was blunt-ended by filling in synthesis. |
