Nuclear proteins from tissues expression the gene bind specifically to two regions of intron 3. The sequence of the intron is available in GenBank J04465.
A BanII fragment (nt -639 to +1395, or nt 2.0 to nt 4.03 relative to the 5' BamHI site), has been demonstrated to contain sequences recognized by developmentally regulated male transacting factors. Transcriptional control is positive.
