The insert includes the following sites, numbered beginning at -469 for the EcoRV site: PvuI--158, HincII--227, BglII--346, PvuII--1252, PstI--1650, EcoRV--2683, XbaI--3920.
Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): SalI--9.4; EcoRV/SalI--4.4, 3.4, 1.3; EcoRV--5.8, 3.2.
The insert includes 2 open reading frames; one for lktC encoding a protein of 19.8 kDa and one for lktA encoding a protein of 101.9 kDa. HB101 transformed with the plasmid shows the 100 kDa protein on western blots, but not the 20 kDa protein.
